Attorney Carl E. Patrick’s practice is focused on a broad range of business law. A seasoned corporate counsel and business litigator, Carl has an established acumen for the transactional and practical aspects of business operations. Clients served include construction contractors, hotel and management groups, automobile dealerships, small to midsize commercial manufacturing companies, boat manufacturing, IT firms, and marinas. His counsel to individuals and closely held private companies includes transactional and regulatory compliance, oversight and involvement in complex litigation matters, negotiating mergers and acquisitions, drafting purchase/sale agreements and complex contracts, and implementing and providing comprehensive human resource policies and procedures to comply with Ohio and Federal employment law.

Carl has served as counsel to homeowner associations and management companies. He is well positioned to advise clients needing help in business operations including finance, strategic planning, risk assessment, and investor relations, and, in the area of human resources, investigation of EEOC complaints, wage and hour complaints, and Workers’ Compensation issues. He has practiced before the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, the Ohio Office of Unemployment Compensation, the Ohio Automotive Dealer Board, and the EEOC.

Carl has significant trial experience in Ohio, California, and Florida state courts as well as in Ohio, Florida, Georgia, and Colorado federal courts. This includes both jury and non-jury trials. He has authored numerous appellate briefs in Ohio and Florida and served on the 12th Judicial Grievance Committee for the State of Florida (Lawyer Discipline), on the Board of Directors for several non-profit corporations, and as a member of the Services for Veterans Pro-Bono program.
